He loves DIY; We love DIY!!
So I have the desire to speak French (and Italian) fluently, I just don’t have the skills – yet!! I was pathetically rubbish at school and hated it. So now I’m on Babble once a week(ish) for my coffee and French time. The good news is that I no longer hate it, the bad news is that I still suck but un peu less!!
Learning about DIY terms in French was cool.. even if I have better retention of how to actually carry out those DIY activities than how to say them in French. Oh well, one is for business, the other is for fun!
The funny thing with doing something for a job/ career is that you can have too much of a good thing - and sometimes the last thing you want to do is more of the same on your day off!! But this week we have got back into doing "little jobs around the house" - the sense of achievement is a bit of a buzz to be honest.
Sometimes it's getting onto the jobs that have been err outstanding quite some time! Even silly things like those sliding doors/drawers that stick - we greased them with a bit of Olive Oil but candle wax will do the job too. Little wins that make you smile every time you open that door!!! - yeah it's that sad!!
The other thing that's funny (more funny peculiar than funny ha ha!) is that you think that if you and or your partner does something for work.. e.g. builder, then your home will be perfect - not true!!
When I was doing gardening - my garden suffered. When I was painting client's homes, my home did not get a look in. In the UK it's called a Busman's holiday! You can have too much of a good thing, plus when you're at home it's the last thing you want to do!
Anyway that's a little bit more randomness about us in case you wanted to know!!?!
